TVS Motors is gearing up to launch their most awaited production Motorcycle Akula 310 in the market. BMW Motorrad and TVS Motor Company are in collaboration since 2013 and are soon going to launch their merge venture. The BMW G 310 R was unveiled, in November 2015 and the second model, TVS Akula 310 was showcased at Auto Expo 2016.
The BMW G 310 R is currently manufacturing in the hub of TVS' Hosur plant in Tamil Nadu and the motorcycle is already on sale in European markets. However, BMW Motorrad is yet to launch the model in India but it has made its presence in the International market. Similarly, the Akula 310 concept's production version has been rumored for launch in early 2017.
As per the latest news both the bikes are ready to hit Indian roads. TVS Akula 310 rumored with the production name Apache RR310S is reportedly heading to market before 2018. TVS Akula 310 is expected to get launched this November in the market.
The G 310 R is powered by the 313cc, single cylinder, 4-stroke engine as seen on the latter. It is expected to churn out a maximum power of 33.5bhp at 9,500rpm and 28Nm of torque. The engine comes mated to a 6-speed transmission. The same mill will power the Akula 310 as well. However, the power and torque figures in TVS' sports bike will be slightly different.
The G 310 R is already on sale in markets abroad, and in India, expects it to be priced around Rs. 2.5 lakh and it will be the first most affordable bike by BMW, while Akula 310 will be the fastest and most powerful motorcycle from the house of TVS. The production version of the Akula 310 is expected to get a price under Rs 2 lakh and it will be the first bike by TVS that will be featuring High power engine.
